Rafting the Tara River

The Tara River is the longest river in Montenegro and is locally known as the tear of Europe for its crystal clear waters. Its crystal clear potable water leaves everyone spellbound whether strolling quietly along its grasslands or wildly through the Tara canyon. The Tara canyon is the longest and deepest in Europe and second in depth in the world after the Grand Canyon in the US. The Tara canyon is 80 km long and in some places reaches heights up to 1300 meters.
Coniferous trees appear to grow in the most unlikely places and waterfalls seem to spring out of nowhere to flow into the river below. Together with Durmitor National Park, the Tara Gorge is a protected area under UNESCO.
After arriving in Scepan Polje, we will sample local specialties and get information about our rafting adventure who's starting point is only reachable by off-road vehicles. The descent takes about 2.5 hours and is suitable for everyone from 12 to 70 years.
