Village Tici (The Moric Family Organic Olive Farm)
The Moric family estate features about 900 olive trees, some of them being a few centuries old. From these homegrown olives the family makes organic extra virgin olive oil. Their farm is the first organic olive farm in Montenegro. Their farm also produces vegetables (potato, lettuce, carrot, cucumber etc.) and fruits (figs, grapes, pomegranates, almonds, etc.). They produce sheep cheese, prosciutto, wine from local Plavac grapes, pomegranate juice etc. There is also plenty of aromatic herbs growing on the farm (lavender, rosemary, sage, thyme, etc.). The family is proud to show their guests how they grow their olives, fruits and vegetables in a responsible manner that is in harmony with the natural surroundings.
In addition, domesticated animals (sheep, goats, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, etc.) live on the farm right in the middle of the Mediterranean flora and fauna.
While at the Moric family organic olive farm we will take a tour of the olive grove and hear all about the production of olive oil. We will also see their new olive mill as well as their authentic 150 year old mill. Our tour includes lessons on how to taste and recognize good olive oil. After this trip you will become a true connoisseur of olive oil.
