Durmitor Mountain Tour

We drive comfortably on the recently built Durmitor roadway accompanied by pristine nature to the town of Zabljak. The town is the center of mountain tourism and winter sport in Montenegro, and also the most elevated town in the Balkans (1,450 m above sea level).
Durmitor National Park is located in the northwestern part of the country. The 39,000 hectare national park consists of impressive mountain ranges with crystal clear mountain lakes and the deep gorges of the Tara and Piva River Canyons. Durmitor National Park has 27 peaks over 2,200 meters above sea level and 48 peaks over 2,000 meters above sea level, and 18 glacial lakes. The best known and largest lake is Crno Jezero, translated the Black Lake, which we will visit in this trip. The park features 748 natural springs and many forests that are hundreds of years old.
The entire region where Durmitor is located has an exceptionally rich flora and fauna. Wildlife in the region include deer, brown bears, wolves and lynx. Durmitor has been a UNESCO protected site since 1979.

Zabljak is a place of tranquility and beautiful scenery. One can go mountain biking, rock climbing or take part in rafting down the Tara River, which flows through Europe's deepest gorge, the Tara Gorge.
We visit Djurdjevica Tara (bridge over the Tara River), the panoramic Curevac stop and walk to the Black Lake (Crno Jezero).
We will enjoy an extensive hot lunch with authentic local dishes from Durmitor.
